Why this work?
Most folks carry some stress about taxes. I believe it’s because it feels like something happening to them rather than something they have a say in. I enjoy helping them alleviate this stress by planning alongside their advisor well in advance of tax season.
What do you wish more people understood about money?
Taxes are a planning issue, not a filing issue. By the time you’re signing a return, most of the decisions that mattered were made months or years before.
What kind of client do you do your best work with?
Someone who has worked hard to build wealth and wants to be thoughtful about what comes next. They may be approaching retirement, selling a business, navigating life after losing a spouse, or balancing family responsibilities. They’re willing to share the full picture, ask questions, and plan ahead.
They see taxes as part of their broader financial life and want to understand how today’s decisions could affect their retirement, their family, or what they’re able to give. They value having their CPA and financial advisor work together so the advice supports the life they’re trying to build.
Where would I find you on a Saturday?
Enjoying the simple life at home with my wife, our children, and our beloved “purebred mutt.” If the Vols are playing, we’re watching. I love to golf when I get the chance and be outdoors as much as possible.
