Why this work?

I found that workplace retirement plans were an area where good guidance could make a difference for an entire company. These plans can be complicated, and many employers need more support than they’re getting. I love helping employers feel confident in the plan they offer and helping employees understand how to prepare for retirement.

What’s the first question you ask in a first meeting?

Before we get into the details, I want to understand what’s working, what’s frustrating, and where they could use help.

What do you wish more people understood about money?

Small, consistent decisions can make a meaningful difference over time. You don’t have to understand everything about investing to start building a better financial future, but you do need a plan you understand and can stick with.

What kind of client do you do your best work with?

Employers who care about their people and want their retirement plan to reflect that. They’re willing to ask questions, look closely at how the plan is working, and consider ways to improve it. They don’t need to be retirement plan experts. My role is to help them understand their options, work through the responsibilities, and build a plan that serves their business and the people behind it.

Where would I find you on a Saturday?

Probably outdoors. I recently spent five months and six days thru-hiking all 2,190 miles of the Appalachian Trail, so getting outside is a big part of my life. These days, a shorter hike makes for a pretty good Saturday, too.
