Why this work?

Helping people. That sounds simple, but it’s what makes this work meaningful to me. Sometimes that means helping someone make a big decision. Other times, it means slowing down, answering a question they’ve been hesitant to ask, or helping them feel a little more settled about the future. My faith shapes how I care for people, and I want each person I work with to feel heard and know I’ve given their situation real thought.

What’s the first question you ask in a first meeting?

“What are you looking for?” I like to give people room to answer that in their own way. They might be looking for a retirement plan, a second opinion, or simply someone they can trust to help them sort things out. I want to understand what matters to them before we start talking about what to do.

What do you wish more people understood about money?

Money can help you care for your family, be generous, create memories, and meet responsibilities. But it helps to know what you want that tool to accomplish. As a father, I’m reminded often that some of the things I value most are ordinary moments together. I want money decisions to support those priorities.

What kind of client do you do your best work with?

Someone who is willing to listen and think things through with me. They don’t have to know all the terminology or agree with everything I say. I welcome questions. The best conversations happen when we can both be honest, consider different perspectives, and take the time to make a thoughtful decision.

When would you tell someone they should hire someone else?

When what they want is someone to beat the market this year. That is a different job, and pretending otherwise would cost them far more than saying so costs me.

Where would I find you on a Saturday?

Spending time with my family. I’m a father of five young kids, so weekends are usually full of activity, conversation, and a little chaos. Whether we’re getting outside or enjoying a day at home, I value the chance to slow down, be present, and have fun together.
