Why this work?
At my core, I want to serve people. Money touches nearly everything that matters: your family, your work, what you’re able to give, what keeps you up at night. Walking alongside someone through their financial life is the most complete way I know to serve them.
What’s the first question you ask in a first meeting?
“What do we need to discuss for this meeting to be successful?”
I ask this because this meeting belongs to them, not to me. I may have an agenda, but if someone leaves without discussing the main thing that was on their mind when they walked in, I failed them.
What do you wish more people understood about money?
Retirement has far more to do with attitude and values than it does with income and expenses. The math matters, but the people who do this well are the ones who know what they’re retiring to, not just what they’re retiring from. Figure out what your “enough” is, then pursue it wholeheartedly.
What kind of client do you do your best work with?
People who are open to talking about their finances and who see money as a tool rather than the destination. The dollars exist to serve your goals. My job isn’t to help someone pile up money for the sake of piling it up… It’s to help them put what they have to work on the things they actually care about.
Where would I find you on a Saturday?
With my family, almost certainly at a ball field or in a gym somewhere, most likely coaching. If I’m not coaching, I’m in the stands cheering them on!
